Rachel reviewing proof reproductions of historic documents

Rachel Baron was born in Brussels, Belgium and raised in the Washington D.C. area. She began studying painting and color theory with Walter Bartman at age 14. Rachel moved to New York City to study painting and traditional printmaking techniques at Pratt Institute. She received her MFA in 2000. She has exhibited her work in New York, Baltimore and Washington D.C.
While attending Pratt, Rachel began working at a well known digital printmaking studio where she spent five years developing her color correction and printing skills. She returned to the Washington D.C. area in 2002 and, soon after, began working at Old Town Editions. In 2009 Rachel became a co-owner of Old Town Editions with Patrick McMahon. In 2019, Rachel became the sole controlling owner.

“I believe that digital printmaking is just as much an art as it is a science. I use all of my education, training and attention to detail to produce the best prints possible. I treat every work of art as if it were my own.”
